3D TPE refers to a new type of car mat made from TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) material using 3D thermoforming technology. TPE itself is non-toxic, odorless, and recyclable - free from formaldehyde, heavy metals, and other harmful substances. Even when freshly unboxed, there is no unpleasant smell, making it especially suitable for families with children or elderly passengers.
How is a 3D TPE Car Mat Made?
Heating & Softening
The TPE sheet is placed into a heating oven and uniformly heated to approximately 150–180°C, making it soft and malleable.
Molding
The softened sheet is transferred into a mould ,Vacuum holes in the mold extract air, causing the TPE sheet to adhere perfectly to every contour of the mold. This is the critical process that gives the mat its precise 3D shape.
Cooling & Demolding
After cooling, the part is demolded, resulting in a preliminary 3D-shaped car mat.
Trimming & Recycling
remove excess flash (edges) from the molded mat, resulting in the final product. The trimmed TPE scrap is 100% recyclable - it is ground into powder and mixed with virgin pellets for reuse in the sheet extrusion process, making the manufacturing process highly eco-friendly.
